How many hours of CPD do you need for CA ANZ?
Members of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) are required to complete 120 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) over a three-year period. At least 90 hours of these must be verifiable CPD, with at least 2 hours specifically in ethics training. Members must complete a minimum of 20 CPD hours per year.
How long do CCH Learning webinars last?
CCH Learning live webinars are generally 60, 75 or 90 minutes long and all include a 15 min Q&A session where attendees can ask the presenter topic specific questions (via chat functionality). The on-demand recordings contain the complete webinar including the recorded Q&A as well as an interactive CPD quiz.
Can I use On-Demand webinars to meet my CA ANZ CPD requirements?
Yes, all CCH Learning On Demand recordings can be used to claim CPD if it is relevant to the learners professional development. Recorded webinars fall under self-directed learning or online courses and these are acceptable forms of CPD. Once a learner views a recording, they can complete a short CPD quiz based on the content of the session, if they pass, they will receive a CPD certificate of completion.
What counts as verifiable CPD for CA ANZ?
Verifiable CPD for CA ANZ includes structured, educational activities that improve professional competence and can be verified through documentation such as attendance records, certificates, or course materials. Acceptable activities include webinars, on-demand recordings, online courses, conferences, technical discussions, and in-house training. Up to 50% of verifiable hours may be counted for by on-the-job training if properly documented. A from 1 July 2024, CA ANZ members must also complete at least 6 hours of verifiable ethics-related CPD per triennium.
Do I need to keep a CPD log, or does CCH Learning track it for me?
CA ANZ members are required to maintain their own CPD log, even if they use platforms which may track course participation and provide certificates. The responsibility for keeping a complete and accurate record – including dates, activity descriptions, hours, and supporting evidence – rests with the individual member. Members can use CA ANZ’s log template, their employer’s system, or third-party tools, as long as the records are accessible for audit purposes. CCH Learning does not currently track an individual’s CPD.
