An introduction to costing techniques.

This course is designed for those who have had limited or no experience with how to determine the right price to charge for a new product. It will take you through a step by step process to apply when costing & pricing products to ensure you not only cover business overheads but also make a profit.

This is a practical course designed to take the guess work out of the pricing process. It will cover examples of how to work out the price to charge for a particular product or product range and cover some of the pitfalls often experienced in the costing and pricing process.

Topics covered are:

  •  Understanding the difference between variable and fixed costs.
  •  How to factor in staff time and fixed/variable costs in the costing calculation.
  •  Step by step methodology on how to work out the price to charge.

Develop an understanding on how to cost a product.

This course would suit:

  •  Owners of businesses who are wanting a simple methodology to follow to cost products
  •  Those involved in developing new products who want to understand how to work out what they would  need to be sold for
  •  People looking to extend their knowledge on how to evaluate current costs and their business costing  process to determine whether it can be improved or simplified
