Key Issues For Start-Ups - Part 2 - 22 March 2017 (On Demand)

Description

Accounting for R&D, Other Intangible Assets and Grants.

There is nothing more challenging in the Start-up space than understanding the mechanics of how to identify, value and account for expenditure on R&D, especially in the software space. This webinar focuses on the practical aspects of such, especially from the perspective of preparing the start-up for the likes of Callaghan and NZTE funding. We will also cover off the tax and commercial consequences of patents, and how any grants secured are actually reported for accounting/tax purposes.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The key outcomes will be enough knowledge to hold meaningful conversations with aspiring entrepreneurs about the formative stages of their business, including being able to explain how the accounting rules interface with the Grant opportunities.
