Making Tax Simpler – Proposals for Modernising the Tax Administration Act

The Government has released the discussion document, Making Tax Simpler – Proposals for Modernising the Tax Administration Act, for consultation.

This is the second round of consultation on the Act, following on from the November 2015 discussion document, Making Tax Simpler: Towards a new Tax Administration Act.

Government has used feedback from the first consultation to develop further detailed proposals for change.

The proposals focus on five core dimensions of the Act:

  1. Information collection, confidentiality and disclosure
  2. Getting tax right from the start
  3. The role of tax intermediaries
  4. The role of the Commissioner
  5. Design of a new Tax Administration Act

This webinar is for “tax intermediaries” who are in the business of acting on behalf of taxpayers in relation to their tax affairs.

Inland Revenue Senior Policy Analyst Paul Quirke and Senior Policy Advisor Carolyn Elliott will discuss the proposals in detail and take your questions.

Before the webinar, you are invited to view the proposals at
