A review of changes to NZICA/CAANZ code of ethics made over the last nine years.
This co-presented webinar provides an opportunity to review professional ethics applicable to accountants and will satisfy part of the six hours of training required by CAANZ/NZICA every three years.
Ethics is one of the cornerstones of our profession. Its existence and our accountability under it help increase trust in the profession.
The Code of Ethics has been changed and developed over the last nine years. This webinar will review these changes and provide an overview of the rules.
Specifically, the webinar will cover:
- NOCLAR (15-12-17)
- Rewrite (15-6-19)
- Further changes (31-12-21)
- Technology Changes (15-12-24)
- Tax Planning (1-7-25)
Please note, the webinar does not cover anything pertaining to ethics for assurance and audit engagements.

- Articulate recent changes made to the CAANZ/NZICA Code of Ethics
- Consider the impact of these changes on your own work situation.
- Meet 1.25 of the six hours of training required by CAANZ/NZICA each triennium

Scott Mason, Governor, presenting on behalf of TEO
Scott was previously a Senior Partner in the Tax Advisory team at Findex with over 30 years’ experience advising on tax matters, primarily for larger owner-managed businesses throughout NZ. He is now a full-time Governor. Scott is a regular presenter for TEO Training and CCH, and former Chair of the CAANZ Tax Advisory Group. Scott is renowned for making complex issues understandable.
