When Wills go wrong - Correction Powers under the Wills Act 2007 - 28 September 2022 (On Demand)

Description

The flip side of getting Wills right is knowing what to do when things don’t go entirely to plan.

When Wills go wrong you often know you have a problem pretty quickly, but you don’t always have a clear pathway to the solution. Issues in this space don’t clearly identify themselves at the outset. It is important to really do your homework and explore all the potential pathways open with regard to the evidence available. This session examines the various pathways (including Validation) with a focus on use of the Correction Power. It looks at some of the “short cuts” that are available, such as filling the gaps via affidavit evidence. It will be of immediate practical use to those needing to narrow down their applications.

Tools to support you will be provided such as draft applications and there will be an in depth study of the Best Estate to see how these things can play out.

This is a fascinating, practical session, with case law and methodologies being closely scrutinised.

Presented by experienced practitioners with a reputation for their practical approach, this webinar is intended for all who practice in the Estates space and those who want to. It is for advice givers as well as Probate practitioners. It will provide a solid foundation for those starting out but will also be of interest to those who have experience in these complex issues.
