To mark World Suicide Prevention Day 2019 on 10 September, CCH Learning and Employee Solution Services are bringing you this free webinar around preventing suicide in the workplace.
In a work setting, many employers feel that they must do more to address the problem of suicide, yet they often don’t know where to start or they worry they will get it wrong and make things worse. Other employers may believe that suicide prevention is not the role of the workplace.
This webinar will look at the many causes of suicide, from depression, anxiety, childhood trauma to psychosis. Usually these events happen outside the workplace. However, there are other factors that happen within the workplace that can lead to suicide, such as bullying, sleep deprivation from overly demanding shifts, financial pressure and excessive stress. Employers must take reasonable steps to prevent these in the workplace.
This webinar will cover:
The feedback from previous workshops run by Michael has been that the material is presented in an informative and hopeful way.
Workplaces will gain the confidence to address the topic of suicide in a safe and supportive manner.
All workplaces, anyone at any level of an organization.
